Project’s petitioner

The petitioner of the project ‘Cross-border support of initiative in the Sprewa-Nysa-Bóbr Euroregion after Polish access to the European Union’ is the county (powiat) of Zielona Góra.

The county (powiat) of Zielona Góra is a part of Lubusz voivodship [province] (województwo lubuskie). It was created in 1999 as a result of new administrative division in Poland. Its seat is the town of Zielona Góra. The county (powiat) is located in the following geographical regions: Dolina Środkowej Odry (The Central Oder Valley), Kotlina Kargowska (Kargowska Valley), Wysoczyzna Czerwieńska (Czerwieńska Plateau), Wał Zielonogórski, and Obniżenie Nowosolskie. On the area between Czerwieńsk and Nowogród Bobrzański, there stretch Bory Zielonogórskie (Zielonogórskie Forests).
